Chinese New Year, also called Spring Festival, is one of the traditional Chinese festivals. The Chinese New Year is the most important festival for Chinese people. This festival celebrate for 15 days. In the festival, there are a dragon dance and fireworks. People in China gather with family meals and visit a friend. They also give red envelopes that are decorated with
duilian. In every year's Chinese calendar represented by 12 animals such as Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. They also have the story of the year of the calendar too. The story is one day on Jade Emperor birthday Jade Emperor told all the animals that he going to have a swimming race in the river he said that the first twelve animals that come first will be named for the year after them. The story of this festival is there nain monster who always come and eat the people in the village. After that, the people make a plan to stop the nain. They stop the nain by color red long ago they using the color red to paint their house and they make loud noise drum or firework to scare the nain away. After that, the nain never come to eat the human again.
